  for those of you who have walked away from most of the scriptural beliefs you might want to take a moment and check you familys and your own medical records.

  while being a witness most of us had no blood warnings posted on all of our paperwork and a flag for our personal drs.

  Wow Snoozy! Your hubby must have been in a large hospital!!

  Around here it is usually a bit more personable.

  I guess that I was a bit vague in my first post. That will teach me for writing later in the evening.

  The other day I was checking in for some simple blood tests and reallized that I was still marked as a JW on all my records.

  Due to the blood issue that really made me stop and think. To be honest at this point I do not know if I would take blood or not based on all the problems of transfusions but I want to be given the option at the beginning of the problem not waiting until it a crisis has been reached.

  Also, the fact that if I go unconcious my hubby has not made any move to alienate himself from his belief system and I fear that he would walk the JW line with my health.

If for you this has changed then please do not forget to contact your family physicians and do what is necessary to update information. It might save you life or someone that you love.

  Even at your hospital... make certain that everything is in order.

  i'm a 32-year-old almost-newlywed female in the market for some new family to replace the, you know... .

  i need parents who will make occasional expressions of pride in my achievements, show concern during the bad times, and keep me up to date on all the gossip from home.

  in exchange i'll contact you at least once per week, do my best to help you with any problems you may have, make you feel needed, travel with you to places you want to see and financially and emotionally support you as you get older!

  Its official... you have been adopted by a very appreciative, jocular, middle aged motherly/grandmotherly woman who has lost her family to the Borg as well.

  No point in taking in other applications I know I great thing when I see one. I have always wanted a daughter of my very own!

  my husband and i were both raised and baptized as jehovah's witnesses.

  my husband was an elder for over 15 years.

  during those years when he was an elder, our eyes began to be opened to what was going on behind the scenes, that their organization was more political than biblical.

  Going back must truely have felt like the dog returning to his own vomit.

  But so many of us have loved ones still in and it seems like it is the only way to communicate with the ones that we love.

  Bethel Downsizing...The True Story

  a lot has been said lately about bethel downsizing and here is what i believe the true story is.. watch where the money is and where it goes.

  a lot of large company's now are doing two things to maximise profits and bolster the bottom line.. downsizing the amount of people they did gives them extra money and real estate space (yes people are a liability even when small) and the potential to flip real estate in nyc.

  the second stage is outsourcing jobs...think it can't happen??

  As far as the magazines go I think that you might be right about the Watchtower but of course it would have to have twice a s many study articles per magazine so it will be able to go for 4 meetings. If that does not do enought they may be forced to kill the Awake.

  Intolerance - a new breed of ex-JW

  i cant help but think of the analogy of pendulum swings when i think about how vitriolic some are towards religion (of any description), the bible (and other scripture), and christianity (generally, regardless of there being a wide range of denominational flavours) in particular.. it seems to me, from my perspective of sitting here on a remote scottish island, that there are a fair number of folks who may have left an intolerant and generalising religion but forgot to leave those attitudes with it.. just my 2p, coz to be frank i'm getting sick of it.. by all means enjoy some self-expression, it's a relatively free planet, but have a heart....

  OK, I am going to jump in. This is the first time that I have included myself in a conversation such as this because I am very sensitive but I just have to say something here.

  Whenever we bury someone that has been a significant and comfortable part of our lives we grieve. Grief has several different stages and going through them can not be avoided in order to heal. It is healthy. Now I admit it is not natural to be forced to bury ourselves, our past, who we have been.

  I still feel anger at times... not over my past with the JWs but with the current effect that they have on my family. They have pronounced me dead to my sons. Yes, sometimes what I feel is white rage. But there is nothing that anyone can do period. If I kept thinking then I would be tossing furniture out the windows.

  REcently, I made a decision to continue visiting JWD but I erased every other ex witness site and ex reference from my favorites and from my computer. The more negative that I read the angrier I became. I will not give them anymore power in my life, period. I focus my energy on the future when there will be a re uniting of my family. I have to believe that.

  MARKETING A PRODUCT

  does anyone here know anything about marketing a product?

  i'll give you a bit of background: i make an incredibly good (if i do say so myself), garlic casear dressing and have tried it out on family, friends and co-workers.

  several people, including my boss, have said it is the best caesar dressing they've ever tried and that i should seriously consider selling it to grocery stores.

  Ok, as far as processing you can get places such a canneries to do that for you at a reasonable price. Cheaper and less hoop jumping! THese jars will be 'sealed ' and thus make a longer journey safely.

  Hope that this iwll help with another option to look into.

  Big Financial Scandal about JW Company in Germany

  german "akzenta ag" was founded by some jw elders.

  it is some financial scheme (mlm) that many perceive as untrustworthy.

  many of employees and clients (especially the first ones) are jw.. .

  well what i wanted to share is that last thursday evening my husband and i went downstreet to do some shopping and were on our way home when we drove by the kingdom hall.

  we have not gone by the kh during meeting hours in years.

  Ooops, I do not know why I keep making that mistake and submitting these forms before I have written in them.

  Well what I wanted to share is that last Thursday evening my husband and I went downstreet to do some shopping and were on our way home when we drove by the Kingdom Hall. We have not gone by the KH during meeting hours in years. I was shocked. There was around 25 cars. Now there is also a a book study as well as a regular meeting going on at that time. Ok, it was not quite time for the meeting to start but very close.

  Used to be at least 50 to 60 cars and that was WITHOUT the book study that is now in the back of the hall on Thurs.

  If I have all my facts right about the 2 meetings that are held simultaneously now then this is a terrible lack of attendance!!!

  Wished that I still had contacts there and I could ask what is going on! Wht is amazing is that this congregation was divided many years ago and last year they purchased new land in a very, very expensive part of the area ( up by the airport) . I am really curious!!

  I have not heard whether or not they have broke ground up there or not. I hate being in the blind.
